The Heart of Chicago: Exploring the Real-Life Locations of Chicago Fire

Chicago Fire isn’t just about the adrenaline-pumping rescues and blazing infernos; it’s also about the city itself. The sprawling urban landscape, the diverse neighborhoods, the iconic landmarks—they all come together to form a character as vibrant and compelling as any of the firefighters at Firehouse 51. Let’s delve into the real-life locations that bring this beloved show to life.

Firehouse 51: A Second Home

The heart of Chicago Fire is undoubtedly Firehouse 51, a place where camaraderie, bravery, and chili cook-offs reign supreme. While many scenes are filmed at Cinespace Film Studios, the real-life inspiration for Firehouse 51 is Chicago Fire Department Engine 18.  The show’s production team is deeply grateful for the firehouse’s hospitality, filming there several times a month.
