‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Friday, May 31: Victor Retaliates by Firing Michael; Summer Hires Sally; Victor Stirs up Trouble with the Abbotts

‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers here and we’re set to close the week out in style with some fun spoilery goodies to share for Friday, May 31.

Retaliation and second chances are the name of the game in this episode as we get some more character growth from Summer Newman (Alison Lanier) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) being his usual vindictive, petty self.

It’s nice how some things are so consistent and never change.

Without further ado, we’ve got the popcorn, so let’s dive into some spoilers!

The Young and the Restless – Lost Cause

It looks like Victor won’t take the news that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) asked Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) to be her sponsor even if he turned her down.

While she’ll understand his reasoning, Victor won’t be so forgiving and chances are it’ll spur him onto doing everything he can to make Jack suffer for daring do what he couldn’t in helping Nikki.

‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers expect Victor to start picking away at those Jack’s actions affected the most, beginning with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) as he’ll do what he can to make her sound weak in his estimation because of Jack.

Then there’s Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) who Victor’s had a curious relationship with, and we have a feeling he’ll praise Kyle up, which will further his desire to undermine Diane at work.

Since Jabot’s infrastructure isn’t a secret, Victor will know who to work on to make Jack’s life miserable, and at least with Kyle he’ll succeed.

Between the two, he’ll set his sights on one that betrayed him, and he’ll fire Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc). No surprise as we expect that to happen a few more times. History loves repeating.

‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers for Friday, May 31: Summer keeps moving forward
Whatever the writers are doing we approve as they’ve refocused on moving Summer away from following in her mother’s psychotic footsteps and have her working to be a better person and move forward.

She’s working to more forward with Claire Grace (Hayley Erin), and now she’s doing the same with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).

The two will have a good conversation about their past with Sally showing regret for her actions and the two will start moving forward as Summer will hire her to fill in for Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) on an interim basis.

This will be fun to watch, especially given how we expect there to be some friction when Chelsea comes back, but we don’t think it’ll be either one’s fault.

Who knows, maybe they’ll all get along and form a new powerhouse trio for Marchetti?
