Y&R Recap – June 4, 2024: Alan Reveals His Twin’s Dark Past, Victor Gives Cole an Ultimatum, and Mariah Questions Kyle’s Hiring of Claire

Last Episode
The Tack House at Newman Ranch
Cole drops by, and Victoria invites him in. He asks how Claire’s first day was… Is she there?
Victoria says Claire isn’t home yet, but it’s like Nikki said… It’s a whole new chapter for all of them.
The Abbott Mansion
Claire tells Kyle and Summer that she and Harrison tidied up his room, and he’s upstairs drawing pictures of the caterpillar’s backyard.
Kyle says she was great with Harrison; he knew she would be.
Summer smiles and says Harrison seems to be back to his silly self again, and she thanks Claire.
Claire says she had a great time and asks how her first day went since it’s a trial.
Kyle says she hit it out of the park, but there’s something Summer should know…
Summer asks why she has the feeling she’s not going to like what she’s about to hear.
Kyle says that Jordan is alive. He explains how she was found by Victor’s security team and is now in a maximum security facility.
Summer is shocked that Jordan is alive. She thinks Claire must have known about it, too.
Claire admits she knew about it since she heard it in the morning.
Summer asks why she didn’t think it important to mention to them that their son’s kidnapper was still alive.
Claire says Victor wanted to share the news personally.
Kyle nods. Victor came by earlier and wanted to tell her in person, but Kyle said he’d talk to Summer.
Claire says she wanted to tell her right away but wanted to honor her family’s wishes. She says that Jordan is somewhere she can’t hurt anyone anymore.
Summer is angry. She says Jordan can’t hurt anyone unless she burns the prison down again.
Kyle tells Claire she can leave now.
Claire asks if she should show up at the same time tomorrow.
Kyle nods. Absolutely!
Claire leaves, and Summer tells Kyle that Claire’s only been on the job a day and is already keeping secrets that change everything.
A Bar in Paris
Ashley asks Alan why he’s saying he had never been in the bar they’re in. She knows they sat and had some wine together. She asks why he’s doing this to her… It happened!
Traci figures she must be confusing something.
Ashley says she’s not confusing anything… They had an in-depth conversation and caught up… He has to remember that! She told him all about the problems she had with Tucker.
Alan says he’s sorry; he wasn’t here.
Ashley is adamant that it happened; she was here with him.
The Tack House
Claire comes home, and Cole asks her how her first day was.
Victoria laughs and says Claire’s smile says it all.
Claire hugs Cole and says it was the best day ever. She gushes over Harrison and says they checked off his entire list of things he wanted to do with her. She’s never had so much fun with caterpillars!
Victoria asks if Harrison is still recovering from the kidnapping.
Claire says he’s bouncing back; Kyle and Summer consulted a therapist, and Harrison is surrounded by love.
Cole thinks Claire is a part of Harrison’s support system; she’s going to help him heal.
Claire says that Kyle said the same thing.
Victoria figures Summer must have noticed that too and has probably lightened up a bit.
Claire says she wouldn’t go that far… Summer treated her more like an employee than a relative, and it didn’t help when Kyle told her about Jordan being alive… Summer accused her of holding back information.
Victoria asks if Claire wants her to tell Summer that Victor asked her to stay quiet about it.
Claire doesn’t need her mom to talk her boss/cousin about it! She says Kyle came to her rescue, but it didn’t have much impact on Summer.
Cole figures Summer needs some time; she’ll come around eventually.
Claire hopes so. She says that Kyle’s been supportive of her and has great energy; he really thinks she can do the job.
Cole says it sounds like she’s made a friend.
The Abbott Mansion
Summer asks Kyle if he knew about Jordan earlier.
Kyle says he didn’t hear about it until Victor came by.
Summer thinks Kyle hid it from her because he knew it was a game-changer.
Kyle reassures her that nothing has changed.
Summer says he’s wrong; their son’s kidnapper is still alive!
Kyle says Claire didn’t have anything to do with it… Summer can’t blame her for it!
Summer is sick of Kyle telling her what to think and how to feel. She thinks he’s being condescending.
Kyle apologizes and says that whether Jordan is alive or dead has no impact on Claire taking care of Harrison.
Summer says the timing is terrible… Jordan’s most recent targets are hanging out together every day! She doesn’t think it’s safe; they should let Claire go before Harrison gets more attached to her.
Kyle puts down his foot and says that they’re not firing Claire. Summer said that their son is back to his sweet self, and they’re not taking that away from him!
Summer tells him that it’s not just up to him… This is her decision, too!
Kyle heads upstairs without another word.
A Bar in Paris
Traci thinks Ashley must be confusing the location with another bar.
Ashley says everything about the bar is familiar to her… She even recognizes the bartender; his name is Jean-Pierre! She tells Alan and Traci to ask the bartender, he might remember.
Alan asks what she remembers about their conversation. How did he respond, exactly? What did he say?
Ashley asks why he keeps asking her… Does he think she’s delusional?
Alan says he doesn’t think she’s making it up. He thinks it happened exactly as she said, but he doesn’t think it happened with him.
Ashley’s confused. What’s he trying to say?
Alan finally admits it… He thinks she spent the evening with his brother.
Chancellor Park
Summer meets Chance in the park and asks if he found out anything about Jordan.
Chance says he talked to his friends in the force, and everything that Kyle said checks out… Jordan is being held in one of the highest security facilities in the country, and nobody has ever escaped. They’re aware of her history and are taking extra precautions.
Summer nods… Victor would probably be raising hell if they weren’t.
Chance asks why she didn’t talk to Victor about this… Why ask him?
Summer says her family are Claire’s biggest fans. Whenever she tries to bring up Claire’s history, they tell her she’s being unfair, but she’s really only trying to protect her son! Chance is her “impartial hero.”
Chance says he’s not that impartial… He’s always on her side! He says it’s good news, though… Jordan isn’t a threat anymore, but she doesn’t seem very relieved about it.
Summer says Claire knew that Jordan had been found; she showed up to her first day at work and didn’t say a word about it to Kyle or Summer because Victor wanted to be the one to tell Summer, and Claire wanted to respect his wishes.
Chance asks if she agrees with that decision.
Summer says she thinks it’s Claire’s first day on the job, yet she’s already keeping secrets! Jordan may not be able to hurt Harrison, but the person that she groomed since birth now has direct access to her son!
The Tack House
Claire excuses herself to order a book on caterpillars for Harrison. She runs upstairs.
Cole asks Victoria why she looks so distressed.
Victoria says she wants Claire to make friends, but she’s not sure that Kyle is the best choice for a friend.
Cole doesn’t see a problem with it; Kyle seems like a great guy!
Victoria says Kyle and Summer have a complicated relationship, and it’s clear that Summer isn’t completely on board with Claire being Harrison’s nanny. She thinks Claire might get caught between Kyle and Summer.
Cole thinks they’ll eventually get over it for Harrison’s sake.
Victoria says Kyle hasn’t always made the best choices. She says Kyle has had several divorces, had an affair with Harrison’s mother, and not that long ago, he was dating that shark, Audra Charles!
Cole thinks Kyle might have learned something in the meantime.
