Home and Away star teases upcoming drama: ‘Really excited for what’s ahead’

Home and Away’s Tristan Gorey has said there’s a lot more drama ahead for the Fowlers.

Home and Away’s Tristan Gorey joined Summer Bay as Dr Levi Fowler last year, and has stolen the hearts of many fans and, of course, fan favourite character Mackenzie Booth (Emily Weir) as he saves lives, avoids death by stabbing, and tries to salvage his relationship with his sister Eden (Stephanie Panozzo).

For some background on Dr Levi, he’s a cardiothoracic surgeon, who arrived in the Bay to treat Mackenzie Booth (Emily Weir) and repair his fractured relationship with his sister Eden Fowler, with the two being estranged after their father cheated on their mother when they were teens, resulting in Levi opting to go live with his dad. Levi then fell in love with Mac, cheated on his wife Imogen (which infuriated Eden once again) and at some point he nearly died after getting stabbed. Another day in Summer Bay, really!

Tristan, who first appeared on our screens in November last year, is now up for a Logie Award for Best New Talent, telling Yahoo Lifestyle that he thought he was getting fired when he first was called into a meeting to hear the good news.

“I didn’t know what to think when I got nominated,” he said. “Our publicist had a mysterious meeting he wanted to have, and our head of drama was in there too and I thought ‘oh God I’m getting fired or something’ and they sat me down and said I’d been nominated and I didn’t know what to think. I thought, ‘Oh, you guys must have the wrong cast member!’”

This week the official Home and Away Instagram account announced newcomer Hailey Pinto’s arrival as Abigail Fowler, Levi and Eden’s younger sister.

When asked if any more Fowlers may pop up, Tristan said he “really hopes so”.

“I’m loving the whole Fowler family dynamic, there’s so much fertile ground for drama there and it’s been a lot of fun to play with, I’m playing with some incredible actresses, Steph Panozzo, Hailey Pinto, and Aaron Jeffrey who was just on the show as well [playing the Fowlers’ father Jimmy]. I think there’s room for more, I’m really excited for what’s ahead,” he said.

Tristan also teased that Home and Away fans should be excited for what’s coming up when it comes to the Fowlers.

“There’s a lot to be excited about coming up… the writing team has done a phenomenal job with the Fowler storyline and as I said there’s some fertile ground there and I’m very pleased to be part of the show,” he said.

So what do we think? A secret love child for Levi? A long-lost twin for Eden? The reunion of Papa Fowler and Mama Fowler after the disastrous cheating storyline? I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
