The Young and the Restless episode on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, featured Nick and Sharon trapped and trying to figure out how to escape, while Cane continued to face the heat. Kyle exposed Audra’s true intentions, and Victor found himself caught in the middle of all the chaos.

What Happened on Y&R Today?

In the dining area, Victor (Eric Braeden) found Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) pacing anxiously. He explained that he tried to follow Carter (Vincent Stalba) but had been blocked by the Abbotts. Victor shared his growing concerns about Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon’s (Sharon Case) safety, admitting that Carter seemed oddly robotic and unsettling. Nikki agreed, noting that they could only trust their family.

Meanwhile, Kyle (Michael Mealor) confronted Victor, accusing him of funding Audra’s (Zuleyka Silver) scheme to ruin his relationship with Claire (Hayley Erin). Kyle was furious and told Victor that he and Claire would move in together as soon as he returned home, a declaration that Victor didn’t seem to care about. Despite this, Kyle was determined to expose Victor’s involvement.

As Victor left, Kyle turned to Nikki and expressed his concerns about the deal between Audra and Victor. Nikki seemed sympathetic, agreeing that it was despicable, but Kyle still wanted to get to the truth.

Chance’s Suspicions and Cane’s Denial

In the meantime, Chance (Conner Floyd) was suspicious of Carter’s involvement and wondered if he was covering for Cane (Billy Flynn). Chance explained that he had received conflicting stories from Carter and the groundskeeper about Damian’s (Jermaine Rivers) death. He was starting to believe that Carter could be hiding something, and Victor jumped to the conclusion that Carter might be working for Cane—or even killing for him.

Cane, on the other hand, was still in his office, trying to recover the footage from the murder, and Amanda (Mishael Morgan) wasn’t impressed with his excuses. She demanded to know if he was tampering with evidence, but Cane denied it, insisting he had nothing to do with Damian’s death. Amanda pressed him on the possibility of Nick erasing the footage, but Cane was sure Nick wasn’t the killer. Amanda urged Cane to release Nick, fearing the situation would only blow up in his face if he didn’t.

Sharon and Nick’s Bond Grows Stronger

Meanwhile, Sharon and Nick, still trapped in the storage room, shared an emotional moment as they reminisced about old times. They laughed about Nick’s bad hair days and the mullet years, which lightened the mood. Sharon admitted that being with Nick felt natural, and they both acknowledged the comfort in each other’s company, even in such dire circumstances.

They began to speculate on what Cane was up to and how little they could do to stop him. As Nick tried to kick the door open, he realized it was a futile effort. They looked for something to pick the lock and stumbled upon old wine bottles, books, and photos. Nick had an idea and used an old champagne bottle to help pick the lock, and Sharon managed to start working on it. They wondered how Cane amassed his fortune and what he was planning next.

Audra, Lily, and Phyllis Clash Over Cane’s Guilt

Audra ran into Lily (Christel Khalil) and offered her condolences about Damian’s death. They discussed how difficult it would be to tell Nate (Sean Dominic) and Amy (Valarie Pettiford), but they were interrupted by a noise in the hedge, which caused them to hide behind a statue.

They later realized it was Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) who had been eavesdropping. Phyllis defended herself, claiming that she was simply trying to find clues about the killer, which led to a heated argument between her, Lily, and Audra.

Lily remained convinced that Cane was responsible for Damian’s death, while Phyllis defended him, insisting he didn’t kill Damian. Phyllis pushed Lily to look at the situation objectively and consider that there was no way Cane could have been involved.
