The Young and the Restless Spoilers for Monday, July 28: A Storm Brews in France, Hearts Clash in Genoa
The week kicks off with emotions running high, allegiances forming and fracturing, and power struggles that span continents. Monday’s episode of The Young and the Restless promises a tangled web of passion, protection, and postmortems—on relationships and reputations alike.
Chance Takes Charge in France — Or Tries To
In a storyline that’s as tangled as the vines surrounding the French villa, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) finds himself parachuted into a murder investigation on foreign soil. He wasn’t exactly invited by Interpol or the French police—but by Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), who was supposed to be the intended victim. Instead, the one who met a tragic end was Damian (Jermaine Rivers), and now Chance has to piece together who wanted Cane dead… and why Damian paid the ultimate price.

But there’s just one small hiccup. Chance isn’t a French law enforcement officer. He has no jurisdiction here. He can’t arrest anyone, nor can he officially clear anyone either. Not that this has stopped him before. With his badge, instincts, and an ingrained sense of duty, Chance does what he knows best: assume command.
Like a modern-day cowboy marooned in Provence, he sets out to “lock down the area” and restore order—Genoa City-style. His instincts kick in, and even though he’s technically out of bounds, he starts turning over every stone, determined to bring justice to a crime that’s left more questions than answers.
Victor’s Iron Grip Tightens
But wait—this isn’t Chance’s show. At least not if Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has anything to say about it. And when does Victor not have something to say?
In true Victor fashion, he inserts himself directly into the chaos. He’s not a law enforcement officer. He has no credentials in France. But none of that matters. Victor doesn’t need jurisdiction; he’s Victor Newman. That’s jurisdiction enough.

Victor believes it’s time to protect his family—on his terms. While Chance is scrambling to make sense of crime scene logistics, Victor is two steps ahead, drawing his own conclusions and laying down the law, Newman-style. His vision of “law and order” looks less like a police investigation and more like a corporate takeover: efficient, aggressive, and unmistakably self-serving.
The implications are clear: anyone not wearing the Newman name might want to get out of the blast radius. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) stands by her husband as always, nodding in quiet but firm agreement. In this family, when Victor talks, everyone listens—even if they don’t want to. And once again, Victor is poised to bend the world around his will.
Sharon and Nick: A Love Written in Sand
Meanwhile, back in Genoa City, another kind of investigation is unfolding—this one of the heart.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) find themselves drawn back into that age-old pattern: the postmortem of their love story. Theirs is a saga that could fill volumes, with passionate highs and heartbreaking lows. Married, divorced, reunited, broken apart—again and again. But even now, with the past written in stone, they still find themselves wondering: could things have been different?

They replay the reel once more, dissecting choices, regrets, and what-ifs. Nick and Sharon both seem desperate to figure out how a connection so real, so raw, could consistently go so wrong.
Everyone around them sees the inevitable magnetic pull. Their kids know it. Their families have placed bets. But somehow, the two of them remain blind to the obvious truth: they are either destined for each other… or destined to always fall apart.
As they sift through memories and missteps, there’s a sense of both hope and futility. Will this be the time they finally get it right—or just one more spin on the never-ending merry-go-round of emotions?
