August 25-29 was an emotional week on The Young and the Restless. From saying goodbye to a beloved character to relationships falling apart, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Here’s a look at a few of the best moments.
Goodbye Colin
August 26 was a tearjerker as Tristan Rogers’ final performance aired. The beloved General Hospital and Y&R actor passed away on August 15. In the episode, flashbacks showed Cane (Billy Flynn) tending to a bedridden Colin. The father and son bonded, and Rogers showcased Colin’s sense of humor as he asked for scotch. But the mood turned serious when Colin realized he didn’t have much time left. Before taking his last breath, Colin advised his son to drop the Aristotle Dumas moniker before it’s too late. It was a touching moment as fans said goodbye to the character and the iconic actor.
Cane’s Heartfelt Message
Tuesday’s episode continued with the emotional moments when Cane recorded a heartfelt video for his kids. The Ashby twins are upset with their father because of his Aristotle Dumas scheme. A dejected Cane stayed composed as he expressed his love for his children and explained the reason for his actions. Realizing his family was more important, Cane decided to end his takeover plans for Genoa City. While his relationship with Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie (Lexi Stevenson) is up in the air, he might have won over Lily (Christel Khalil).
Kyle’s Heartbreaking Confession
Claire’s (Hayley Erin) newfound strong attitude was in full force in Thursday’s episode. Having doubts that Kyle (Michael Mealor) wasn’t being completely honest about the Audra (Zuleyka Silver) situation, she confronted her boyfriend. Claire was calm, yet assertive when she asked Kyle what happened in France. Although he tried to beat around the bush, he finally confessed to his kiss with Audra. Kyle explained his reason for the kiss, yet Claire didn’t buy it. Even though her heart was breaking, Claire remained resilient as she laid into Kyle for his betrayal. Kylaire were long overdue for drama, and they didn’t disappoint with Kyle’s confession. As for whether this is the end, we’ll have to wait and see what the next step is for the couple.
