Roger Howarth is the next big star to join The Young and the Restless. The actor has an illustrious soap career that spans three decades and memorable characters. So, could he be bringing one of his iconic characters to Genoa City?

From Llanview to Genoa City

Howarth’s soap stardom launched in 1992 when he was cast as Todd Manning on One Life to Live. The character became one of soap opera’s legendary villains and earned Howarth a Daytime Emmy. The actor portrayed Todd on and off until 2013 and briefly reprised the role on General Hospital.

It’s been 12 years since Howarth’s last appearance as Todd, but could the character be popping up in Genoa City? A fan theory on Reddit speculates that Howarth’s Y&R character might be Todd.

”It would be great if he could roll into Genoa City as Todd Manning,” wrote one user.

”I would love this very much,” one viewer replied.

”He needs to be Todd Manning,” declared another fan.

Many actors have reprised their roles on other soap operas. Christian LeBlanc’s Y&R character Michael Baldwin made a guest appearance on As the World Turns in 2005. In 2020, Courtney Hope brought her The Bold and the Beautiful character Sally to Y&R in 2020. So, there’s a slight possibility that Howarth could play Todd on Y&R.

If OLTL’s Todd does come to Genoa City, he’s bound to cause plenty of trouble. His troublemaking will increase if he becomes involved with the town’s top vixen, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). Todd and Phyllis would be an exciting couple as they mixed pleasure with scheming (plus, Howarth and Stafford already once played a couple on GH!).

Will Howarth reprise his role as Todd? Or will he play a former Y&R character or someone new? Fans will have to wait and see when the actor makes his debut later this fall.
