Drinking Buddies

Claire (Hayley Erin) and Holden (Nathan Owens) have already become drinking buddies. He introduced her to Vespers. Audra (Zuleyka Silver) wasn’t surprised to learn that he pulled that line on Claire as well. Sounds like Holden is a bit of a playboy.

But Claire might like being with a bad boy for a change. She knows that she has a past that’s far from perfect. She tried to kill her family after being groomed most of her life by Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk). The straight and narrow path hasn’t worked well for her. Maybe Holden could bring out a different side to Claire on Y&R.

Why It’s a Slow-Burn

Just because these two love drinking together doesn’t mean they’re jumping into bed together anytime soon. Claire needs someone she can trust, and Holden is that person. He allows her to be herself, regardless of her past. And she’s coming to realize that he’s not everything he seems as well.

Right now, the only man she doesn’t trust is Kyle (Michael Mealor), especially after what happened between him and Audra in Nice. Plus, this is her first relationship and first love. The last thing she needs is to rush things. Maybe she needs to spread her wings with a man who could show her the ropes, sort of speak.

Also, it looks like Holden is starting to have feelings for Claire after the time they spent opening up to one another. He also looked out for her well-being and safety the night she got drunk. He remained as sober as possible while he made sure that she got plenty of coffee in her system afterward. These two are likely to have feelings for one another, which will further complicate things for her and Kyle.
