According to the official Paramount+ logline for season two, 1923 will next explore the following: ‘A cruel winter brings new challenges and unfinished business to Jacob (Ford) and Cara back at Dutton ranch. With harsh conditions and adversaries threatening to end the Dutton legacy, Spencer embarks on an arduous journey home, racing against time to save his family in Montana. Meanwhile, Alexandra sets off on her own harrowing trans-Atlantic journey to find Spencer and reclaim their love.’

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, actor Brandon Sklenar (Spencer Dutton) shared that Spencer’s ‘calling to go home does propel the story. It’s not an easy journey. It’s filled with challenges. Spencer and Alex both have a lot to overcome before he can get there. Taylor [Sheridan] doesn’t make it easy on anybody in writing these shows.’
