The Bold and The Beautiful spoilers and updates reveal Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) is exploring treatment options for his cancerous brain tumor, extending his life and potentially open up future treatment avenues.
However, could we witness a paternity upheaval if the doctors determine that they require donors to provide biological material to assist in curing or supporting Liam’s health throughout his treatment?
There Is A Possibility
Perhaps this is a possibility; we’re going to discuss how this could result in a shocking paternity revelation that might disrupt many lives in LA.
So, if he consents to proceed with the treatment, which it seems he will, the cancerous mass in Liam’s brain could either shrink or its growth could be halted through radiation and chemotherapy. This is what Dr. Grace Buckingham (Cassandra Creech) and the neuro team have suggested.
However, there are additional cancer therapies that could complement these treatments. Certain types of cancers that can lead to brain tumors may benefit from a stem cell transplant or a bone marrow transplant.
A Donor Search Could Reveal Biological Ties, And Family Secrets
Some of Liam’s options may necessitate a donation from a family member. A relative with a biological connection to him would be more suitable.
For example, Grace might want Liam to receive platelet infusions; these infusions can assist cancer patients who experience bleeding problems, as they aid in clotting and other functions.
Therefore, they may request to test Liam’s family members to determine if they are compatible for donation; this could also involve the children.
Additionally, if Liam’s cancer is a type of blood cancer, Grace, John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), or Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jones) might propose a bone marrow donation. This would need to be from someone who shares a blood relationship with Liam.
Hayes’ And Kelly’s Paternity In Question Again?
The reason I mention all of this is that there are two unresolved paternity questions. One is something fans have eagerly anticipated for years, while the other is likely to be unpopular among them.
You might recall that the paternity of Steffy’s two children, Hayes Finnegan (Alexander and Chase Banks) and Kelly Spencer ( Sophia Paras McKinlay), was a topic of speculation during both of her pregnancies.
Steffy had to undergo paternity tests on both occasions. One of these tests even led to the end of her relationship with Liam, the man she loved at that time.
Will The Cancer Plot Produce A Believable Paternity Twist?
It’s strange that despite Liam having cancer, the details have been quite vague, similar to how they handled Eric Forrester (John McCook).
Up to this point, I can’t remember them actually saying the word cancer regarding Liam-however, Grace did discuss oncology with Liam, which pertains to cancer treatment.
She also mentioned radiation and chemotherapy, both of which are well-known terms associated with cancer. Additionally, we know that soaps often bend the rules of science, as they were essentially fabricating details about Eric’s illness.
For a long time, they didn’t even specify what he was suffering from, only that he was dying-then, out of the blue, there was a miraculous cure.
Who Might Be A Donor Match, And What Could Be Revealed?
It seems that the CBS soap might once again engage in some questionable science, suggesting that Liam’s cancer could potentially be treated through a transplant or donation.
This could involve platelets, or perhaps even bone marrow, but in real life that only works on leukemia.
There’s also the possibility of using cord blood, leading to a scenario where everyone in the hospital nursery gets tested, since the blood is from umbilical cords.
But for regular transplants, Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) would certainly be among those tested, along with Steffy and Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) to ensure all options are explored.
If none of them turn out to be a match, the search could widen to include testing children and other relatives, and then friends, then the transplant registry.
Children Are Eligible As Long As They’re Healthy And A Match
Children and siblings of any age can be suitable donor candidates for Liam, provided they are a match-this could potentially broaden the options to include the children. I’m sure Finn, Steffy, and Hope would all agree that it’s a good idea to have all the kids tested.
However, regarding Hope, there has never been any doubt about Beth’s paternity. Yet, if they do end up conducting donor tests, we might be in for a shocking revelation about the paternity of one of Steffy’s two children.
Fans might not take it well, but if Hayes is tested, it could reveal that he is actually Liam’s son instead of Finn’s. But that’s not all-there’s a possibility that Kelly could be Bill’s, not Liam’s!
Remembering The Paternity Test Over Kelly In 2017
For quite some time, there have been suspicions that Steffy’s paternity test may have been manipulated, possibly by Bill himself.
Kelly, being Liam’s presumed daughter, would be a likely candidate for testing as a donor since she should share a 50% DNA match with him, making her a suitable donor.
However, if Steffy had Kelly tested for platelet or bone marrow donation, can you imagine the surprise if the results showed she was only a 25% DNA match?
B&B could throw a curveball by revealing that Bill tampered with the paternity test in an attempt to reconcile with Liam.
If it turns out that Kelly is actually Liam’s half-sister rather than his daughter, she would only share 25% of her DNA with him, which might render her an unsuitable match for donation.
Fans Have Long Wanted Kelly To Be Proven Bill’s, Not Liam’s
Fans of the CBS soap have been eager for a paternity switch, moving Kelly from Liam’s to Bill’s. Remember, after Steffy spent that night with Bill, he began manipulating Liam, making him believe he and Steffy were involved; this was Bill’s attempt to steal Steffy away from Liam.
However, by the time Steffy discovered her pregnancy, Bill regrets and was trying to show he could be a responsible father, wanting Liam to be happy and settled with Steffy.
Yet, when Liam and Steffy learned about the pregnancy, she couldn’t shake the fear that the baby might belong to Bill.
When Steffy revealed to Bill that she was expecting, he felt anxious as well, knowing that Liam would never let him off the hook-consequently, Steffy kept this possibility hidden from Liam.
It Was Right Around Christmas Of 2017
She hurried to the hospital to discreetly obtain a paternity test-it was just before Christmas, around 2017. Bill was aware that she was undergoing the test.
Then, he appeared at the doctor’s office on the day Steffy received her results, which was shortly after Christmas 2017.
So, Bill was somewhat hanging around the hospital, close to the lab-Steffy bumped into him right after she learned the test results indicated it was Liam’s child.
However, fans have questioned this ever since because Bill was in a place he definitely shouldn’t have been. Many people are eager to discover if Kelly is actually Bill’s daughter with Steffy and, in fact, Liam’s little sister.
