Chicago Fire fans rage against NBC’s ‘pathetic’ schedule change that leaves viewers without new episodes of franchise

CHICAGO Fire has occupied another schedule change that has fans raging.

The NBC drama did not air a new episode on Wednesday after weeks of reruns.

Chicago Fire, along with its OneChicago family- Chicago PD and Chicago Med – were not on last night.

A new episode of Chicago Fire hasn’t been on since April 3.

The Season 12 episode, Something About Her, aired that night and since then it has been reruns.

Luckily, for OneChicago fans they will be able to see new episodes on May 1, nearly one month since the dramas had new ones.

Fans can watch all three shows starting at 9/8c on Wednesday on NBC and the next day on Peacock.

After next week, all new episodes will air until the finale next month.

The reason for the constant reruns is because the writers and actors went on strike last year, which made Chicago Fire have a shortened season.

They want to space it out so it ends when it normally does in May.

‘PATHETIC SEASON’

After weeks of old episodes, fans raged on social media and called the schedule pathetic.

“@OneChicagoCtr are we done with new episodes? This has been a pathetic season – one episode and a break. Maybe one or two followed by another break. I know there was a strike but there should be some attempt to keep fans invested in the series. #ChicagoOne #NBCChicago #OneChicago,” one fan tweeted.

“I’m over the reruns for the new season of #ChicagoPD #NBC,” an X, formerly Twitter, user wrote.

“Dang #ChicagoMed. Another rerun,” a third added.

“Another rerun #ChicagoPD @NBCChicagoPD,” a fan tweeted with a gif of Joey Tribbiani from Friends saying See Ya.

“D**n I could of swear #ChicagoFire was going to finally be new tonight,” one last fan wrote.

‘7 MORE S LEEPS’

However, fans were over the moon when the drama announced that they would be back next week with all-new episodes.

“7 sleeps until our favorites are back!” they captioned the post.

Photos of the cast were posted in a carousel to their Instagram page.

“1 WEEK UNTIL #ONECHICAGO IS BACK!!!” a fan tweeted.

“FINALLY!!!! I need the #OneChicago fam back it’s been too long,” another said.

“So excited! Hope it does not drag,” an Instagram user wrote.
