I’d rather you imagine it.” Sheridan’s vision was to create a standalone piece that could be appreciated without any prior knowledge of “Yellowstone.”

While “1883” won’t continue, the saga of the Dutton family does. A sequel series, “1923,” premiered in late 2022. Despite her character’s death in “1883,” Isabel May reprises her role as Elsa Dutton, serving as the narrator for the new series. “1923” is headlined by Hollywood legends Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, who play Jacob and Cara Dutton.

Jacob is the older brother of James Dutton, portrayed by Tim McGraw in “1883,” continuing the family’s legacy.

 

Lawmen: Bass Reeves – Not an 1883 Spinoff

There has been some confusion about “Lawmen: Bass Reeves,” which was initially planned as an “1883” spinoff titled “1883: The Bass Reeves Story.” However, it was eventually reconceived as its own franchise, separate from the “1883” continuity.

Although Taylor Sheridan produces both series, “Lawmen: Bass Reeves” stands alone and does not share continuity with “1883.”
