Taylor Sheridan’s Landman returns for Season 2 on Paramount+ with seismic shifts in power, unexpected alliances, and a darker, more calculating Tommy Norris, played by Billy Bob Thornton.
Season 1 concluded with the shocking death of Monty Miller, which propelled Tommy into the leadership seat of M-Tex Oil. Suddenly at the helm of a company built on high-stakes deals and political maneuvering, Tommy found himself negotiating with cartel boss Galino, who saved his life in the finale. That uneasy alliance marks the beginning of a dangerous entanglement between legitimate business and criminal power.
Season 2 dives deeper into that murky territory, with filming currently underway across Texas, including Fort Worth and the Permian Basin. The new season will explore Tommy’s evolving relationship with Galino, who now seeks to enter the oil industry not as an outsider, but as a partner. It’s a dangerous move—and Tommy must decide whether to embrace it or resist it at his own risk.
With Cami Miller (Demi Moore) also stepping into greater authority at M-Tex, the show promises internal conflict alongside external threats. Together, Cami and Tommy will attempt to stabilize the company while managing relationships with volatile partners and protecting their late patriarch’s legacy.
Season 2 also brings a major casting shakeup: Sam Elliott has joined the series in a key role. While details about his character are under wraps, his presence hints at a shift in tone and hierarchy, and possibly a rival powerful enough to challenge both M-Tex and the cartel.

Returning cast members include Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Colm Feore, and James Jordan. Andy Garcia, who plays Galino, is expected to play a more prominent role as the cartel’s interest in oil deepens. New additions include Guy Burnet, Miriam Silverman, and Stefania Spampinato.
Thematically, the season continues to explore the clash of ambition, corruption, and power within the modern oil boom of West Texas. According to co-creator Christian Wallace, the central conflict this season resembles a high-stakes chess match between Tommy and Galino—two cunning men circling each other in a game with no clear rules.
Billy Bob Thornton has hinted at Tommy’s darker evolution. Now in charge, Tommy is no longer the reluctant player; he’s making deals, building alliances, and cutting people off when necessary. The line between survival and compromise is thinner than ever.
Set to premiere in November 2025, Landman Season 2 is poised to intensify the drama with bigger moves, bolder betrayals, and fewer second chances. This time, it’s not just about oil—it’s about control.
Tommy Norris is done playing nice. And West Texas better be ready.
