Spoiler alert: The following article contains spoilers from SEAL Team season 7, episode 9, “The Sea and the Hills.”
Following a close call in the previous episode, Bravo is still ready to risk it all in SEAL Team season 7, episode 9. David Borenanaz’s Jason Hayes is desperate to capture Ramon Nazario and put an end to the fentanyl drug trade operation between the former Honduran Special Forces colonel and China. While Bravo is also invested in the mission, Jason has a personal connection after his son, Mikey, overdosed on fentanyl in SEAL Team season 7, episode 6. Thankfully, instead of continuing to hide this secret from his team, Jason tells Bravo about Mikey.
Nazario’s overall objective is to overthrow the Honduran government, and his deal with China is aiding that goal.
Despite learning that this mission is personal for Jason, the rest of Bravo are ready to throw themselves into the fire in the penultimate episode of SEAL Team season 7 on Paramount+. In episode 8, the SEALs’ op went wrong. They were approaching Nazario’s camp when they saw Ross Curtis, an American citizen. Just when they were about to pull back, Bravo was compromised and had to leave with their guns blazing. All the men returned to the boat unharmed, but it was by the skin of their teeth. Now, Bravo must recover and set out on a new mission in episode 9.
Is Bravo Able To Capture Ramon Nazario?
Nazario Is Now In The United States’ Custody
After a couple of dicey ops, Bravo finally captures Nazario by the end of SEAL Team season 7, episode 9. However, getting to that point wasn’t easy. First, Jason and his men infiltrate Nazario’s yacht, but he isn’t on it, and it’s rigged to explode. Thanks to Drew Franklin, the SEALs make it out alive (although Jason barely makes it off before it explodes because he goes back for the boat’s GPS). The GPS tracker shows the yacht’s most frequent location (Nazario’s hometown), and Bravo suits up a second time to hunt down Nazario.
Bravo attempts to find Nazario in his hometown, but the people there protect him, and he gets away again. Unfortunately, the SEALs just miss him. Thankfully, though, Lisa Davis locates Nazario’s SUV, and Bravo continues their chase. Towards the end of SEAL Team season 7, episode 9, “The Sea and the Hills,” Jason and Drew embark on another mission while Ray, Omar, Sonny, Trent, and Brock hunt down Nazario.
Elsewhere in SEAL Team season 7, episode 9, Sonny learns that Stella and Brian are moving to California.
Sonny, Brock, and Trent serve as the ground team, while Ray and Omar take to the skies. From their vehicle, Sonny, Brock, and Trent are able to get rid of two cars in Nazario’s convoy, while Ray and Omar take out an RPG and a truck from their helicopter. That just leaves the SUV containing Nazario. Ray and Omar shoot the engine, causing the car to crash. Bravo then kills all of Nazario’s security guards and captures Nazario alive, taking him into U.S. custody when SEAL Team season 7, episode 9, concludes.
Why Jason & Drew Don’t Accompany Bravo During Their Last Mission
Jason & Drew Aren’t With Bravo When They Capture Nazario In SEAL Team Season 7, Episode 9

Ray, Omar, Sonny, Brock, and Trent are able to handle apprehending Nazario on their own while Drew and Jason embark on a dangerous mission in SEAL Team season 7, episode 9. Jason gets a call from Command and is ordered to track down an American citizen — Ross Curtis. It doesn’t take much for Drew to persuade Jason to let him tag along, and the two set off on their treacherous journey.

One might think that the rest of Bravo’s mission capturing Nazario is more risky. However, Curtis is a Green Beret (aka he was in the United States Army Special Forces), and it will be much harder for Jason and Drew to get to Curtis than for Bravo to take down Nazario. Plus, Command orders Jason to assassinate Curtis, not apprehend him. So, heading into the SEAL Team series finale, Jason and Drew will be separated from the rest of Bravo as they track down Curtis.
Ross Curtis’ Betrayal Explained
Curtis Was At Nazario’s Camp In Episode 8

At the beginning of “The Sea and the Hills,” Bravo discovers that Curtis was at Nazario’s camp of his own accord. He wasn’t sent by the DEA as an informant or by any other U.S. government agency, meaning that Curtis is a traitor to the United States. Davis learns that, when he was with the United States Army Special Forces, Curtis was in Honduras in 2004 training Honduran soldiers, which included Nazario. Of course, this news shocks and infuriates the Bravo team in SEAL Team season 7, episode 9.
As Jason points out, Curtis has been so contaminated by war that he can’t escape it.
Ray deduces that Curtis was the one who introduced Jun Yilin to Nazario, starting their partnership over the fentanyl drug trade. Curtis is undoubtedly in it for the money, all the while not caring what happens to American citizens. As Jason points out, Curtis has been so contaminated by war that he can’t escape it. Sadly, Curtis’ fate is what Jason’s final arc in SEAL Team has been all about. He’s worried that war is all he is and will ever be. Hopefully, seeing what war did to Curtis will wake Jason up and make him realize he can be more.
Why Jason Comes Clean About Mikey’s Overdose
Jason Finally Tells Bravo About What Happened To His Son
After Mikey’s overdose in SEAL Team season 7, episode 6, Jason essentially shut down and threw himself into his work. He didn’t let anyone in, not even confiding in Ray or Mandy. Jason’s closed-off tactic wasn’t working, though, as seen during the close call with the trap on the yacht. So, Jason finally informs Bravo that their mission in Honduras is personal to him because of what fentanyl did to his son.
The Bravo Team is surprised by the news of Mikey’s overdose, and they immediately express their concern for Jason (after making sure that Mikey is okay). Drew is the one who takes it the hardest because he thinks it’s hypocritical that Jason let his personal problems influence his decisions with the SEALs after Jason told him not to. Jason and Drew then have a heart-to-heart about both of their issues (Drew’s grief after losing all of his Echo teammates and Jason’s son almost dying due to fentanyl).
What Will Happen To Jason & The Rest Of Bravo In SEAL Team’s Series Finale?
Only 1 SEAL Team Episode Remains

SEAL Team season 7, episode 9, ends with Nazario in U.S. custody and Jason and Drew setting out to find and kill Curtis. So, the series finale will likely open with Jason and Drew either succeeding or failing their mission before heading back home with the rest of Bravo (if they make it out alive). Then, the Paramount+ military drama series must figure out how to wrap up all its loose storylines.
Paramount+ will release the SEAL Team series finale, “The Last Word,” on Sunday, October 6.
Bravo has come a long way since the SEAL Team season 7 two-part premiere. However, Jason still has to work through his problems regarding how war has affected him. Ray has to make things right with Ben and officially retire. The investigation concerning who assaulted General Decker must come to an end (with either Sonny getting away with it or being implicated). Sonny and Davis’ relationship needs to be addressed. Finally, Drew’s arc that began in SEAL Team season 7, episode 1, must have a satisfying conclusion.
