The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) isn’t intending to use what is described as a short trip to Italy for anything other than business. But a projected fateful event will cause him to see Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) in a renewed light.
Despite the engagement ring that Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) is wearing and the return of Ridge’s loathed brother, Nick Marone (Jack Wagner), Brooke appears likely to reunite with Ridge.
Reconciliations with B&B’s arguably most famous couple aren’t news. They’ve been married and legally split eight times. There are also more breaks than that record-setting number when legality isn’t mentioned.
So, one question, among many, can be offered for the viewer’s thought. Is this latest revival believable?
Taylor Hayes Out So Quickly Feels Wrong
This section isn’t one that Brooke fans will agree with. But they’re not the target audience.
Instead, viewers who see the full value of creating alternative daytime roads are being spotlighted. They are asked what the purpose was of recasting the Taylor character, bringing in a veteran actor like Budig, and then so quickly ending the seeming remarriage storyline before it even happened?
Brooke has repeatedly beaten Taylor, and maybe that’s the point this time around. Her destiny line might not be that at all. Lang’s character could have been stating the truth, not her truth or Ridge’s truth as a soapy moral relativist would purport.
It’s fair to wonder if the better plot line would have been for Ridge and Taylor to marry and remain so for at least a year before he felt drawn back to Brooke?
Nick Marone’s Stay Short In LA?
It’s great for longtime fans to see Wagner back with the cast. If Nick had succeeded, Brooke would have reconciled with him through remarriage.
But Nick’s back to serve as motivation for Ridge, with Kaye’s character realizing that he can’t allow that threat to block his path back to Brooke.
Wagner hasn’t been a regular cast member in many years. Nick and Brooke have a son together, with that part of their shared history also providing plenty of plot opportunities. Yet, he appears to simply be a momentary distraction for Brooke.
The coming dunk in the water Brooke will take is facilitated by Nick’s presence and Ridge’s rescue. Brooke naturally survives, and maybe Nick will as well, though he’ll need to be connected to another lady, possibly his other ex-wife, Taylor, if so.
Brooke Logan Always Knew Ridge Forrester’s Heart
Kaye has done a fine job creating his version of this classic character since assuming the role Ronn Moss (Ridge) originated when B&B debuted in 1987. Kaye joined the cast in 2013.
Brooke’s instinct is much more than bravado. Plus, she has the eight prior marriages to support her belief that Ridge loves her more than Taylor or any other woman.
What seems like a fait accompli, which is destino compiuto in Italian, offering a nod to this great soap’s most recent, marvelous location shoot setting, is unfolding. Ridge goes to Italy, engaged to Taylor, but is drawn back to Brooke, despite Nick’s extensive charm.
Viewers will be watching to see what twists the writing staff applies to keep a many-times-used tale fresh this summer, as another Brooke and Ridge sequel happens.
