The Problem With Connor On Y&R

Young and the Restless for June 5 with Connor, Billy, Adam, Chelsea, and Sally with the Soap Hub logo.Is there something more to Connor’s story?

Connor has Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and on the June 5 episode of The Young and the Restless, Chelsea and Adam revealed that the situation was getting worse. We applaud the soap for addressing this real-life issue that affects about 1.2% of U.S. adults.

Treatment Facility

Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam (Mark Grossman) separately told Billy (Jason Thompson) and Sally (Courtney Hope) that they had concerns about Connor (Judah Mackey, who shared this BTS). It seems that more than once recently, the worried parents mentioned that the hospital and treatments seemed to be making it worse.

As soap watchers, we’re trained to look for sure signs, and these concerns make us wonder if there’s something sinister with the place where Connor is getting his treatment. Also, it seems like something of a red flag that their visit with Connor got canceled. Then again, though, we aren’t sure that Y&R wants to muddy up this type of storyline with something like that.

We know Chelsea and Adam are worried, and we’re seeing the difficulty parents face when their child suffers from a disorder playing out on screen. Of course, what’s missing is seeing Connor’s difficulties play out on screen. We do wish we were able to see more of Connor’s difficulties. We didn’t get to see much of it before he left Genoa City, and we’re only getting small glimpses of it now. Mostly, we’re hearing about the whole thing second-hand from Chelsea and Adam.
