The Young and the Restless spoilers confirm that soap vet, Tamara Braun, who recently made her exit from Days of Our Lives as former mafia princess, Ava Vitali, has joined the cast of Y&R.

Braun will play a mysterious new character named Sienna Bacall. The actress is no stranger to soap hopping.

She is a two-time Emmy winner’s first soap gig was firecracker Carly Corinthos on General Hospital. She took over the role from actress Sarah Joy Brown.

Braun won a Soap Opera Digest award for her portrayal of mob boss Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) wife. Braun played Carly on GH from 2001 to 2005.

From there, she went to Days of Our Lives to play Ava Vitali and scored a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2008.

Braun played Reese Williams on All My Children from 2008 to 2009. The actress made soap history when her character, Reese, and Eden Riegel’s character, Bianca Montgomery, became the first two gay women to get married on a soap opera.

She returned to Days as Taylor Walker in 2011 and reprised the role she originated, Ava Vitali. When she wrapped up her second stint at Days, she returned to General Hospital as a new character, Kim Nero, an OB/GYN at the hospital.

In 2020, she returned to Days for a third time and reprised her role as Ava Vitali. She left the Peacock soap in April of this year.

The actress is set to start filming at Y&R next week and will make her debut as Sienna Bacall in the fall.  We wonder if the new character is connected to Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn).

‘The Young and the Restless Spoilers’: “Sienna Has Personal Connections To Several Characters Already On The Canvas”

Flynn is also a Salemite as he can also currently be seen on Days as Chad DiMera until early 2026. Cane is presently struggling to adapt to his new life in Genoa City as he’s not exactly everyone’s favorite person.

Cane’s ambition is to take over every major family company in Genoa City and reclaim his relationship with true love, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).

An inside source told People magazine that,

“Sienna has personal connections to characters already on the canvas.”

When Braun left after her most recent run on Days, she announced on April 1st on Instagram that, after five years in Salem, she would be making her departure from her role as Ava Vitali.

At first, fans thought it was an April Fool’s joke, but she was telling the truth. Braun wrote on social media,

“I wish this was an April Fool’s joke, but it’s not. This was Ava’s last week on Days. Last couple of days, really.”

She continued,

“Sad but true. I’ve been gone since July of last year (due to Days’ long lead time from production to air).”

She concluded with a sweet message to her fans,

“Thanks for all the love, support, and support during Ava’s last Salem stint.”

Tamara Braun is a true soap fan favorite, and we can’t wait until she arrives in Genoa City. We’re excited to see her portrayal of her new character, Sienna Bacall, on Y&R very soon!
