The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Josh Griffith Discusses The France Storyline Finale And Upcoming Twists

The Cane Story Was Inspired By “Murder On The Orient Express”

To begin with, Josh Griffith revealed that the inspiration for this story came from Murder on the Orient Express – although he didn’t limit his characters solely to the train.

Fans have also been treated to the maze, garden, dining area, and numerous other beautiful locations on Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) summer estate.

This plot was crafted as an exhilarating way to uncover Aristotle Dumas’ true identity and to bring Cane back into the narrative – all while linking him to several important figures.

Of course, a bit of murder and chaos was essential for the sake of drama, which meant that Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) had to be eliminated!

With the chaos now unleashed, Josh Griffith has assured us that even more danger is on the horizon, and the story’s not nearly over yet.

More Danger, More Fearful Experiences

Viewers can certainly anticipate more frights and injuries as this storyline unfolds towards its climax; “It’s fair to say that danger remains significantly present, placing our main characters in considerable peril,” Griffith hinted.

Although Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is directing her anger and all the accusations at Cane regarding Damian’s fate, there remains a glimmer of hope for their relationship moving forward.

Griffith commended the chemistry between Billy Flynn and Christel Khalil on screen before teasing about the upcoming developments for their characters, which fans will undoubtedly find intriguing.

Naturally, audiences are curious about what lies ahead for Cane, Lily, and the rest once the chaos in Nice has finally subsided-despite Cane and Lily’s tumultuous past, they had a sweet love story.

It’s About Time That Lily Had A Love Story That Lasts

It’s about time that Lily had a love story that lasts-over the past few years, she’s had failed romances with Billy Abbott, (Jason Thompson) Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) and now Damian’s death.

Like Lily and Daniel, Lily and Cane share a past-but as young adults, not as teenagers, and have two grown children. Once everyone is back at GC, Griffith emphasized that new challenges await – particularly for Cane.

“It will be a constantly shifting chess match as he attempts to discern who his allies and enemies are,” Griffith remarked. “To complicate things further, some of his adversaries might join forces to bring him down.”
